Steam Cleaning:
Carter's Carpet Restoration uses a hot water extraction process to clean your carpets. This method is often called "Steam Cleaning". This is the cleaning method recommended by nearly all carpet manufacturers and carpet fiber producers.

The Process:
First, your carpet is pre-treated with a green cleaning agent. This cleaning agent helps to loosen all the soil, dust, dander, and oil that have built up on your carpet fibers. Carter's uses a zero-residue cleaning agent, which means there is nothing left in your carpet following the cleaning. Zero-residue cleaners help keep your carpet from re-soiling because there is no sticky soap for dirt and dust to stick to.

Next, your carpet is cleaned with a rotary extractor, called a HOSS-700. The HOSS is the newest technology in carpet cleaning. It connects to the truck (which is the steam source) and then steam is sprayed into your carpet fibers with intense agitation. At the same time, it is being extracted back into the truck, removing all the cleaner, dust, dander and soil from your carpet.

Following the cleaning, large air movers are placed on your carpet. The air movers force air down into your carpet fibers and help speed the dry time. The more quickly a carpet dries, the less chance stains have of resurfacing.

Grooming is the final step. The technicians groom your carpet by hand to enhance the dry time and appearance of your carpet.

You can help speed the drying time by opening windows and doors, using ceiling fans and whole house fans. Your carpets are safe to walk on immediately, however it is recommended that you stay off of them for one to two hours.
