FAQ's

These are some of the most frequently asked questions. Please feel free to call or email us with any specific questions or concerns that you may have.

What do you charge for carpet cleaning?
Carter’s Carpet Restoration is different than most carpet cleaners because you do not pay by the number of rooms you have cleaned. Carter’s charges a flat rate per square foot – you only pay for what you have cleaned. For example, you may leave your heavy bedroom furniture in place. Carter’s measures around the furniture so you only pay for what is cleaned, not the entire room.

Does Carter’s give free estimates?
Absolutely, we can usually come very close with an over the phone estimate by simply asking you a few questions. If you need or prefer an exact price, we are more than happy to provide you with that service? Just call the office to schedule an in-home estimate.

Are your cleaning products safe for my family and my pets?
Absolutely. The primary cleaning agent used by Carter’s is called Procyon Plus made by PlusManufacturing.com. Procyon is residue free, safe and nontoxic. In fact, it is used in hospitals across the country.

What other services do you provide?
Carter’s Carpet Restoration provides a variety of steam cleaning services including carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, tile and stone cleaning, grout sealing, carpet repairs, patches and restretching, and oriental rug care.

Can you clean leather furniture?
No, not at this time. However, Carter’s does clean standard upholstery, including microfiber furniture.

Are there extra charges for pretreatment or heavily soiled areas?
No, at Carter’s Carpet Restoration we do what it takes to get your carpets as clean as they will come. The price for cleaning is the same regardless of soil content, regular wear or the age of the carpet. Additional charges do apply for the treatment and removal of pet urine and dye based stains.

Why do pet odor treatments cost more?
Unfortunately, carpet cleaning alone does not remove pet urine from carpet fibers. On a molecular level, urine is very sticky and needs to be broken down chemically so that it releases or detaches from the carpet fibers. Depending upon the extent of the urine damage, there are several treatment options that customers can choose to remove pet odor from their carpets. Carter’s uses new, very effective “green” treatments to remove pet odor. If you are concerned about pet odors and need more information simply give Carter’s a call and we will try to answer your questions or arrange for a free inspection.

Are all your products “green”?
Unfortunately, no, but approximately 85% of our cleaning agents are. Protecting the environment is important to all of us at Carter’s Carpet Restoration. We continually watch for new developments. Of course, our primary cleaner is Procyon Plus – a green product.

My son spilled Kool-Aid on the carpet. Will that come out?
Kool-Aid is a dye based stain and will typically not be removed with carpet cleaning alone. Dye based stains change the actual fiber color of the carpet. There are treatments for dye based stains and our technicians can provide you with options once they see the stain and your carpet fibers. If you have a question about a specific stain, just give us a call. We’re happy to help.

How fast will my carpet dry?
On average, most carpets are dry to the touch within an hour to two hours. Dry time does vary depending upon several conditions including soil content, air flow, carpet density and fiber composition. For example, carpet with heavy soil content will need more moisture in the cleaning process which can extend the dry time by several hours.

How long until I can walk on my carpet following the cleaning?
You can walk on your carpet immediately following the cleaning process just be sure you are wearing clean, rubber-soled shoes.

Can you clean and seal the tile in my shower?
Yes, that is a very common service. Additionally, Carter’s is able to clean and seal most stone or tile surfaces including floors, countertops and backsplashes, etc. Please call for pricing.

Is Carter’s able to repair grout lines?
No, not at this time. We can provide you with a referral to a grout repair specialist.

Do you have weekend appointments?
Yes, Saturday appointments are available. Emergency Service Calls are available on Sunday and during the evening hours.

How far in advance do I have to schedule my appointment?
Carter’s Carpet Restoration runs multiple trucks and we can usually get to you within one to two days. If you’re looking for a specific time, you should schedule about a week in advance (morning appointments go quickly!).

Do your technicians move furniture?
Yes, our technicians will move most furniture with the exception of heavy bedroom furniture and entertainment centers. There is no charge for this service.

Does Carter’s provide commercial carpet cleaning?
Yes, Carter’s provides commercial carpet and tile cleaning to a variety of local business ranging from restaurants to doctor’s offices. You can schedule at regular intervals or annual appointments depending upon traffic and wear. We work around your schedule and often set evening appointments after customers and employees have gone home. Call for pricing. Referrals are available upon request.
